Default Does this forum have a pvt section?

Just saw some old posts about the pvt forum, does this still exist? What do you have to do to qualify or whatever to get into it?

    A curious jjh

    Yep it's Live and Kicking!

You need to demonstrate a decent level of knowledge that generally shows you can offer something worthwhile to the current members.

Due to the current state of play, at the moment there isn't an awful lot of discussion being facilitated.

On that note I've been stung by a dodgy advanced Databases exam which was far more advanced than the practice papers.

As a result it seems I've gone out like a light.

In racing terms, after being 5 length clear coming to the final furlong (with a first class dissertation) I've just come off the bridle (Databases exam) and haven't found a thing. It looks like after I managed to get a tune through the use of a whip (Decent last 2 exams) its a 2 way photo finish between the 2:1 and 2:2.

The bitch stung me with relational algebra statements which "supposedly" we didn't need to remember, Difference, Intersect and Union.

She followed that with a request for a set of "most efficient" relational algebra statements including about 10 Joins, 4 Selects and a Project. Cluseterd vs Non-Clustered Indexed and how SQL server establishes the most efficient Query Plan through Query Optimisation.

    +

Then the other section included ADO.net shite vs Transact SQL and the production of 50 line triggers.

On top of this we had to learn the answer to a seen question about SQL Server 2000's OLAP services to successfully faciliatate the configuartion of a Data Warehouse for an astronomy research organisation. This produced 1500 words which I needed to resite word for word.
