Royle family- chipped or unchipped???

I have a royle family in my local which i have tried the 20p trick on but just cant seem to get 3rd hold on anything. Recently i put about £70 in and only once inside that (backing from first pound) did it give me the third hold although i was just playing it on 30p stake and it gave me a skill stop. When i try to get the skill when putting 20p's in and changing the stake a code flashes up on the display does anyone know based on what ive just said, if that machine would be chipped on unchipped. You don't need to play for 3rd holds!

You don't need to play for 3rd holds in normal play to get the skill stop.

You can find out if its unchipped, first hold, then 60p from there. Chipped or unchipped and the amount of holds the m/c offers I would guess £3 at worst to find out if unchipped or chipped.

Yeah well obviously i dont need to play for them when putting like 70, i was just playing it normally as i thought it might have been worth playing since it was playing quite well and backing from first couple of £. so when you do get your first hold on 20p you let it revert back to 30p then another 20 in and if unchipped it will hold again?? cheers
