some cheeky f*ker managed a childish hack to appear like any user - so board down until a few silly A 's are rejected from the login validation..
boooring. yawn.
wonder if that hack works on this stock forum![]()
I haven't really followed your board, but I seem to remember you upsetting a lot of people(including me) a few years ago when you put a couple of current emptiers on it.
Why did you do that,as a matter of interest?
Didnt realise your the admin of Fruit-Machine.net Alex. I saw the user posts - a Test one and two BFU ones, and looking at your (very insecure) board, I would ASSUME that they have used the following exploit:
PHP Post Exploit
I have attempted this on a test board, similar in design to yours and it seems to work, within the file is a way to secure the board. I should add that the person that creates the login cannot in any way do anything but post as their desired user, but with a different e-mail address. May I also suggest e-mailing the registered e-mail if valid, and see what happens.
This scam is only recent, and holds no benefits, unless of course you could access a customer care DB or something and ask users for information, and finding boards like is hard, believe me
Any questions or problems PM me,
Dave
1- they were old emptiersOriginally Posted by Slotterman
2- if you were that good then old emptiers would have not affected you.. for example you can see the OLD version of the site at www24.brinkster.com/fruitmachine/
you might notice that only tricks (such as follow me trick, some timeouts) were publically viewable.. emptiers such as supercharged, honey money etc were available to PRIVATE users only. (obviously posting an emptier to the public can be done if the time is right- e.g. superwankadia has 20 posts about having a "good time" this weekend etc. ad nauseum...)
such tricks were mentioned because they were public knowledge at the time, and of course to let people know what they are missing out on (hey - the chips were out)...
3- "slotterman" is it.... not heard of you apart from on here. been slotting for 12 years.. you dont sound very old school to me. get the old facts right before you try to float a supposed witch ;-P

1 - i am one of the admins. and i programmed the board.Originally Posted by Justanewone

they didnt use that trick, they just used a decimal code to represent first letter of a username ..
see.
eg http://www.natural-innovations.com/wa/doc-charset.html
so registration as "& #65;dmin" (without the space) becomes Admin when u register, cos that code is a capital A..
bit of a lamer hack really, i preferred the alt-255 hack myself.. the fun i had on arcadia impersonating admin there chuckle....
3-yeah packetstorm is good, rootshell.org was fun back in the day too
4- nearly forgot.. PHP is for fking lamers. I am a Java servlet and jsp man...

That seems to confirm my suspicion that you published stuff that you'd heard 3rd hand and didn't actually use yourself at the time.Originally Posted by alexross1977

I assumed that you set the website up to make a few quid by flogging information you got from various sources, such as arcadia & CMA, which is fair enough, but you must surely admit that in doing that, you were part of the process that made playing fruit machines the waste of time that it has become.
Yeah, Slotterman is my real name, btw, surprised you never heard of me.
As for old school,I couldn't really care less.I certainly don't define myself by my supposed fruit machine playing prowess ( I don't even play any more), but I was making £1000/week 15 years ago,so I probably knew something, once upon a time.

anyway 1k a week 15 years ago eh.. u must b living off the interest

Fair enough,I could have been more tactful(a few lagers too many put paid to that), although I don't believe I committed 'character assassination'.
I wasn't trying to start a flame war, I was genuinely interested in knowing what motivates someone(be it J.Morris,C.Smedley or D.Clarke,to name a few) to run a fruit machine guides website. I know Jon Morris realised with hindsight that his site helped kill off JPMs (JPM put the last few nails in their own coffin,of course). I still also maintain that the internet has largely made pro-playing pointless(certainly far less attractive than it used to be).
Anyway,if you don't want to keep this thread alive I'll let it drop.

as for the WHY question - It was an excellent testing platform for my messageboard.. I sell & program custom messageboards (amongst other IT solutions) to some people (its my other job) , and fruits have always interested me.. I am happy to just leave it to itself prettymuch.. maybe if the clicks go through the roof it might give me some revenue someday.. could add banners etc, maybe sell it for a few k as a portal when it goes #1 on google
all the best
alex
Fruit-machine.net was good in its day (good old brinkster domain). Nowaways just like fruit chat, no-one posts! Or they do and nothing comes of it...
