    Default Turning point

I think i may have reached a big turning point in my fruit machine gambling. I think ive become disciplined Ive always had mixed results depending on how much i drink and if i insist playing a bell fruit that everyone has told me wont pay. Yesterday was different though i stopped listening to the little voices in my head and made a good profit despite drinking quite a bit. I think i have now moved to a 7/10 player.

    one question though.

If i put £5 or so through the machine and get no board i usually assume its not going to be worth playing but is it worth another couple of quid as the chances are a board should be on its way, that way i can take something and move on.

    And one more thing
I was also called a snake yesterday but im sure he meant shark, anyway i took it as a compliment. I was actually watching a friend playing the machine from a distance while talking to someone so i had no intention of taking the machine after.

JG going from the comment above I would say you are either flattering yourself with 7/10 or had a stupid moment before you typed it.

What machine are you talking about?

£5 in a DnP without a board and you must play for a board even just in an attempt to get £2/3 back if its dead. You will be due on the board after £5. Same goes for AFU and clones. Just because you have put £5 in and not had a board it doesnt mean its dead. Jesus man, you should know this by now.

However, if you are playing a RED and put £5+ in without a board (I wouldnt bother putting any in but thats just me), chances are that it may be in a dead spell, especially if it takes much more than £5 and may be worth leaving.

In summary, putting £5 through a machine and leaving it without a board in most scenarios is a bit stupid in my opinion. If you're going to put £5 through you must play a board to see if its worth playing / forcing / collecting.

Yeah, i'm not buying that £5 in stuff.

Quite often a machine will taken more, sometimes less. I find sometimes, especially on JJC and clones, that i can chuck £8-9 odd in for a board leading to a mega streak out of the blue to flatten it out. You should be reading machines from how the board plays, not from money in.

Like a105, some machines just aint worth playing at all. Bellfruit & Red can quite happilt take £8-£10 off you for a board, blagging pieces of shite. Just stick to the ones that you know and can play best.

I thought I had turned the corner as well lately, got my timing up to scratch and a few methods that were consistant for nice profit, considering how little I know in the grand scheme and the small route I do.

i have serious respect for people who day in day out can just walk away having done their bread and butter m/c's and are up. How do u not get tempted to go out drinking etc? As soon as I get profit I think "there's a free night's drinking..." - so then I get pissed and play some shite, or force a bellfruit etc.

Maybe it's a student thing eh? How old are most people here?

    And JG, oops.

    Fray I dont understand this.

Why would a Pro, day in day out machine player, get tempted to go out drinking more than anyone doing any other job. Bar-staff, collectors etc spend hours a day in pubs, i'm sure they arent out every night getting pissed.

Anyway, many good full-time players have families and children to go home to. At least 5 that I know of, based in various locations (Newcastle, Sunderland, Birmingham, N.Ireland), have wife and kids and a mortgage (although most are paid off )

Yep, i lived off gambling ( mainly fruits) for 2 years after redundancy from IT.

Had to cover all bills & mortgage etc & provide for partner & toddler ( hadnt been divorced all that long either & we were basically having to start from scratch re household stuff. Now that IS pressure, and discipline becomes your god in that situation. There were a lot of times when i wrote a cheque, then had to go out to "earn" the money to cover it....

Not saying we lived the high life because we didnt, but we did ok.

Now i am working again, but just go out for a couple of hours a day slotting...can make 500 a month currently, any more is a bonus... and i am a lot more relaxed doing it, but the discipline that i learnt during the "pro" phase has become second nature.

I am sometimes quite envious of the student types who play, & the money they make can be used for anything they like..... wish i would have known what i know now in my teens/twenties.
