    Exclamation Pressing Buttons

Whilst on my normal round, somebody who i didnt know from Adam came up and asked if he could watch, as i didnt want to give too much free info to this stranger i played dumb, as im good at this to my surprise, he started to tell me how to play the machine, which of course i already knew hence the reason i was on it.But he then started pressing the buttons, which really started to piss me,he then took over the machine, but what shocked me most, was the fact that he pulled up a chair and put his feet up on the machine, cheeky t**t if your on this forum you cheeky t**t you must of realised almost straight away that i was a player, this was my first machine of the day, cup of tea in my hand, and this over helping prick didnt even have a drink, not only bringing it on top for me who he didnt know, but for him"make yourself at home" surely this guy must not live in the real world, if he thinks he can do this everywhere he goes into, so if you are this forum Mr Button Presser i think you should take a few tips from a pro.

1:BUY A DRINK EVEN IF IT IS JUST A CUP OF TEA, YOU DONT HAVE TO DRINK IT.
2:SMARTEN YOURSELF UP, YOU NEED TO BE BLENDING IN, NOT STICKING OUT LIKE A SAW THUMB WHICH YOU DID.
3ONT PUT YOUR FEET UP AND LOOK COMFORTABLE, MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOUR HAVING A MARE ON IT IF YOU HAVE TO.
4:IF I WASNT A PLAYER, LUCKY FOR I AM YOU WOULD JUST HAVE STOPPED YOURSELF FROM MAKING MONEY ON THAT MACHINE AGAIN, BECAUSE MR MUNTER CAN NOW TAKE A JP OFF ?????? AND SHOW HIS MATES HOW.
5:"DONT PRESS MY BUTTONS" IF IT WASNT MY FIRST MACHINE OF THE DAY, YOU MIGHT OF FOUND A VERY DIFFERENT REACTION FROM ME, THAN JUST LETTING YOU TAKE OVER FROM ME, THINK ABOUT IT YOU WOULDNT LAST TWO MINUTES IN A NORMAL PUB.

Sorry this post is so long but how do some people get by in this game without being barred from every pub they go in

Considering yourself a pro is acceptable since many members of this forum should be classed as 'pros' compared with "general players", however...

I regularly visit pubs with the intention of leaving with considerably more coins than when I enter and often don't bother buying a drink. Granted it is sometimes appropriate to buy a drink but in many larger chains its not required. Why should I waste my money on a Coke for it to be tipped down the sink when the bar staff couldn't give a toss whether I buy one or not???

By the way I very much doubt the guy vistits this or any other forum. Most players who use forums tend not to help another player win money...Or is that just me being greedy???

So it is because of people like you, that some places are on top just because in the likes of JDW it is not a must to buy a drink, i think that you saying waste your money on a drink, if you are there to do a machine it would not brake the bank, to spend a whole £1 on a drink to not bring it on top for the players who do, what happens if your doing something that takes time, just wonder in straight to the machine and play it, nice one most bigger pub companies have alot of staff that play the machines, so your just giving them a reason to bar you, how long have you been playing machines for.

I didnt say in every venue did I?

I said in certain locations its not required.

You may feel different although as yet, in over 4 years of regular play to a high standard, with miles of travelling, I am yet to be barred.

Places are on top because people fail to adopt the correct attitude in the correct places when playing and like to use keys etc. (Havent used mine for years, prefer £15 in approach)

Granted if I walk in an out of town country pub I will always buy a drink, usually an alcoholic one at that but this is not required all the time.

I don't see where you are coming from with the approach that because I dont buy one in Weatherspoons other places are "on top" and find it necesary to bar people.

Plus the maojrity of the time, by not buying a drink in a busy Weatherspoons you are preveting yourself from being noticed on a regular basis. I.E You visit the same pub in a small town at the same time for 6 weeks on end and each time the same bar maid serves you a coke and watches you walk over to a machine and drop the lot. Your likely to draw less attention by just blending in with the crowd without interacting with staff.

If you had any sense you would have told the guy to sod off and stop spending your money, collected a win and returned to the venue later rather than let him annoy you, press your buttons, try to get friendly (now he knows you for next time) and no doubt waste your money.

See this is turning into an English lesson again, but never mind i am only pointing out the fact, how some players make it on top for the one's who do things right, and if you think buying a coke is going to make it on top, then buy a pint, in the likes of JDW it is only £1.20 for a pint, so whats the point in having the staff behind the bar, saying ha hasnt bought a drink again, and he is taking all my the money out of the machine again, i take pride in blending in not making a fool of myself, is it a bad thing that i buy a drink, ok it may cost £50 a day in drinks, but its nothing when you have played thirty machines is it, i really cant see what the problem is, i didnt put the post on for it to be turned into a arguement, i put it on for the players who dont do things the right way, to look at it and try not to bring things on top for people like me.

It seems to me that you put the post on with the intention of informing the guy concerned that he was in the wrong and should take some tips from a pro.

God only knows why you didn't tell him these tips to his face instead of trying to hunt him down on the Internet.

Anyway, I agree with the majority of the points you highlighted and for those that are new to the game, agree that it is a 'very' good idea to buy a drink if intending to go into any pub to play the machines.

However I just happen to partially disagree with one of your points and have gave my reasons why. Obviously any dead or half empty pub requires a drink but in a busy JDW where I know for a fact that the staff show no interest in mine or any other local players (we know each other) activities a drink is not required.

I accept the majority of your argument and will 'agree to disagree' with whether it is always required.

    Best Regards

People talking to you give 'advice' is very annoying but albeit, acceptable. People coming up and pressing buttons for you and sitting down at a machine your playing is not. I would have told him to fuck off or take a high win and walk away if you feel endagered. You can always return later and having some idiot hassling you is not worth the time or effort.. best to just get away from them.

    Dam ive been found out......

Seriously, it comes with the game, it attracts wankers, talking to yourself about getting people and killing them all sometimes helps if i can keep a straght face. otherwise a simple "Do you mind?" or "fuck off" will do to get rid of them.

the problem is to casual players a £10 win etc may seem good but as most know taking these wins AND carrying on will very often result in loses to the machines percentage.. £5in£10 out.. £6in£10out.. £25in£10 out is common etc..

Also I find if they know a few or all of the features on a machine many will consider them selves pro's of that machine.. or if its a machine in their local they may feel attached to it somehow as it is part of their domain or something..

It really is best to not start any trouble as it will likely end up bad in the long run. Is best to politly ask them to leave you alone or walk away.

If you do not have the control to walk away from a machine in any situation then I doubt you can be ever considered a 'pro' as you lack the self control.. the machine can always be returned to later, your health if you are involved in a fight or something will take much longer to return.
Why has it come to this?
