Still finding VIUs AFUs etc with really scary balances, ie between 140-160 light, surely they cant all be caused by mis-floats ?
Did a little check on one yesterday.... was 141 light mid afternoon, knew i would be ending up in same place at near closing time.
Got there 10.30 pm, was now showing 112 light so nearly 30 quid gone back in, thought i might have a quickish JP in it... but no took 20 in cold blood, best offer was £4, no setups for stnw, superhold.... walked in disgust.
No sign of driller-killer fraud on it, and surely units done like that would still be in a happy state ( or whatever state they were pre-fraud ) ?
The comparison in play between one of these low balance jobs & "normal" one is pretty stark.. ie we played in off the beaten track village location, it was 28 light ( i know the barmaid plays it in the mornings & often nicks a JP out of it ) It cost 20 to get a 25 stnw JP, but it played quite well in contrast to the savage play of the low-balance jobs.
I appreciate i could be sensitive if there is something going on, but anyone got any thoughts on this ?
The way it stands i think i need to stake out some locations and try to catch whoever is doing them![]()

i absolutely agree with this- there's a viu in manc. station that i've played a few times, always seems to be dead, on different days/times too. Friday afternoon it was backing off the first quid, but then gave 2 features over the course of #20, with a generous four pounds the highest offer...
apart from telling me what's going on () any general advice i could get? Along the lines of maybe, 'Don't play these until youve found out what's up?'
how...do...you...?
Key them m8, then its a no-brainer.

its a manipulator, not an emptier.
theres a chip out anyway. easy to spot if you know what to look for. amusing how they always change something minute so they know waht to look for themselves innit![]()
Sure this is not just an improvement on the 'free' streak? I am hearing free streak, something to do with red boxes then JP for £75 (ish) total..
Could be right as maybe free streak and red boxes are seperate pots?
Also these really light machines.. sure this is not due to the note acceptors being used a lot?
Why has it come to this?
