i run a pool hall and i just got a new machines, pharos gold classic, i'm a pro on £25 machines but can anyone give me a heads up on these bigger machines (pharos gold in particular!) i never make any real money, are they worth playing and whats best to look for? i saw a kid put £120 into one taking only little wins £3-£10 and came away with nothing, should i stick to £25 machines?

Also has anyone else seen this and what do they think? http://www.fairplay-campaign.co.uk/fruit/ its mad!

Stick to what you know. You may find yourself making numerous trips to the bank if you start getting mixed up with unknown club machines.

    On another note:

A "PRO" sticks to what he knows!

A "PRO" plays fruit machines for a living, it is there "PROFESSION".

IE. They are a "PROFESSIONAL" at what they do.

A "PRO" does not run a pool hall.

I know what you mean though!

Correct, but you must meet the other criteria also.

Think of a doctor. He must have a patient...

however a patient is no use on its own, he must also have a licence to practice on said patient.

Can one not be a Proffessional in two or more fields, i may run a pool hall so i'm a proffessional there but i also get paid to coach football so i'm a proffessional in that aspect, and i make more money than i lose and dedicate many hours a week playing machines, so am i not a proffessional?anyways thanks for the warm welcome and i'm looking forward to future banter.

You gotta understand that most people that announce "im a pro" are usually not and are clueless fucks just bragging for info or wanting to swap the latest thing for the vivid method.

If you do as you say run a pool hall then simply shark to see how it plays. Myself i do not like sharks but if you have machines in your hall then do it and place the machine in sight of where you are.

    Oh and welcome.

in a local pool hall near me, there are four 250 jp's. i know the bar people well and they all shark them. one in particular a sorta manger (he in training) will wait five secounds if that before jumping on one. he tells me he easy makes around 300 to 400 a week without over doing it when he sharks people. i dont mind people who shark as long as they dont make it blinding obviuos that they are sharking me. normaly when i see sum1 is sharking me i collect the pot in little wins and on the way out say to my freind " i cant beileve i have just put that much in that " 8/10 times the guy not gunna fall for it but i just wish i got to see the other two.

Nothing wrong with this so called 'sharking' in my opinion.

If someone doesnt know what they are doing on a particular machine then they deserve to be 'sharked' for playing on it in the first place.

If they do not what they are doing then they have nothing to worry about as said 'shark' will either soon realise and move on, or persist in waiting and end up getting his/her fingers burnt.

oh yea no doubt i mean i have once or twice sharked sum1 when i see them putting pound after pound in and not even looking at what is on offer once on the board. i just dont like it when people dont even try to look asif there not sharking you. they stand there by them selfs and just stare. in fairness i rerely leave a machine wihtout taking sumthing biggish out, unless i went for quick steal and if i dont i tell sum1 i know to jump on before so and so does.

in my opinion its every man forthemselves, i'll not stare at people playing but i have posistioned the 3 £250 machines by the bar so i can watch, however more often than not you'll get people who haven't got a clue and in my eyes its so frustrating when they don't take full advantage of a board, and its even worse when someone who's not got a clue drops the JP, although i've never seen this on a club machine. sharkings not bad the sad old geezers in weatherspoons debating whether to buy a half of mild ar put there last quid in the machine your on offering you advice like go lower than a 5 is where the problam is.
