I have noticed recently that all these so called 'top features' that appear above £25/JP these days on many many machines with name slike super streak, mega streak or whatever dont pay in multiples of the JP amount.

Is it not a requirement that when paying tha jackpot amount that it then repeats only in multiples of that or has the recent dergualtion changed that as well? Am I the only one who remembers proper features where if you landed £25 then it went over £25 it woould go all the way to £50?
Why has it come to this?

Unsure about legal gaming regulations but the term streak is certainly used more loosely these days.

"Streak" used to mean multiples of JP on most occasions. These days streaks offered to the player as a top feature often result in less than the Jackpot being offered. "Top Feature" should be the best thing the machne has to offer.

Take a SUPER Golden Dragon feature for example. The indications on the cabinet and game play indicate there would be no better win than a SUPER Golden Dragon yet there are reports that this has given as little as £3.

Disgusting is the only word i will use to describe it.

This has also taken away some of the joy of playing. In the good days, players would be extactic to see a streak as they new they were on for between £50 and £100 depending on the machine. These days its totally different.

Take AFU for example. After punting £30 through and getting AFU streak you are forced to wait in anticipation to see if you get maybe £35+ back often to be dissapointed with a mesley £25.

The argument is that to pay large streaks, streak pots are required which means little playability is offered for the casual player. Eg. Big Cheese, collect £3 and see 3 boards where only £2 is offered. This suits me fine.

The problem was that the industry figured not enough value was being offered to the casual player and as a result, the so called "pros" who new when to force and how much it would cost were killing the market.

    Cue, Red Gaming.

Reds approach was to make the whole game of fruit seem a lot more random than progressive forceable Barcrests, in the interest of the casual player. Every effort was made to stop forcing. They even introduced false backing to put the "pros" off. This almost worked but the lack of playability and the terrible destructive suck modes that were implemented made them worse than what was already on offer IMO.

Im quite young so a top streak feature going for multiples of £25 is unbelievable. Iv'e seen JP repeat but a top streak usually goes for £35ish.

What is the most anyone has had in one streak??

they went for a lot more even fairly recently. machines such as austin powers and adams family (same i know) if you got mega the streaks could be enormous. on a £15 jp addams family i saw a £110 top streak! even big bucks on beaver was worth at least 60.

Nice post and a good read. SRR top feature gave me £13 the one time i got it, cheers. As long as it credit breaks it must be legal I guess, but then again I can't remember if Wildfire etc did (had it go for £100).

For a £100 streak what will cycle be? £300? more surely? Does it take it out of every credit, so in theory say 5% of your £1 goes to a streak pot, maybe another to a different pot (hiddens?) and the rest to the actual feature u are trying to play?

Which m/c's in your experiences always streak if top feature or JP?

    IMO

    Older extremes.

    Monopoly and clones (50-75)

Er thats it actually, forced a few royal roulettes and wildfires for only £25, no streak, but some ppl will also say monopoly never goes...

    Golden grid?

    Never forced a red either...[/b]

golden grid generally costs a fortune (up to £90) for the first top feature that usually only does 25-40, but then jp's on subsequent boards and afterplay will usually make your money back as long as you are not desperately unlucky. winspins from the super board is a major source of afters. i always found fruitopia streaked off the top for much more, and gave flashing features following for a much more obvious streak (after skill spins was chipped on that and cash raker).

Was quite surprised last night when on a red mega streak on GBC it went to £50, carried on but only went for £63. Normally once it goes past £50 you expect £75. Still, not bad though!
