Somebody has been completely emptied the AFU in my local, it was discovered by the collection women when there was only £4 in the drop boxes. She called an engineer to check the machine out, as not many machines with note changers get emptied with very little coins in the box. He discovered a little hole that had been drilled about an inch to the right of the lock in the centre of the cabinet, the one parallel to the refill key slot. This hole was only big enough to fit something like a metal coat hanger through it.

Does anyone know how this machine could be emptied via this small hole, as everyone in the pub is baffled.

Isnt there a hopper dump switch inside machines? I think the door needs to be registered as opened as well though but I am sure you could hit the door detection switch as well though.
    Thats just my guess.
Also something else which I am sure someone was trying last night in a pub but I didnt say anything as it didnt seem to suceed was trying to open the barrel lock on the door with a pen (search slashdot.org for info on this flaw) as many locks of this nature can be easily defeated with a pen or similar instrument.
Of course these methods are probably illegal.. especailly driling a hole as thast causing physical damage.
Why has it come to this?
