right - sorry to burst some of your bubbles people.

    backing doesnt mean nothing.

u could walk up to a backing vamp it up not to realise that the engineer had just pressed the hopper top up button.

fair enough - on most occasions is does mean the hopper is full (£125 or £250 w/ note acceptor) and you may get a big-ish win. dont bank on it!

how about checking to see if a note changer is working or not? half the time the changers off its actually been inhibited in the software beacuse of a low hopper balance. varies from manu to manu tho.

anyone remember red gamings fake backing after five conseq coins? was that illegal lol think it was

If you do regular runs in certain locations and get to know when the refil days are then you can definitely use 'backing', or keying a machine to check hopper balance, to your advantage when reading a machine. Obviously you have to gauge how the machine is playing as well as how much its holding, but it is definitely a factor you can use.

I disagree as backing is usually a good sign on its own (asuming its not a refill)..

There are some machines.. well most actually I just wont play unless they are backing or very near to.. unless showing other signs.
Why has it come to this?

agreed scott. backing doesnt mean nothing is being silly really. in some cases, ie. refill days in some locations it does mean nothing, but most places dont have refille days (this does differ however depending on your round). backing is still a good sign, unless your refill key says otherwise.

    pointless post IMHO.

Can I just clarify that is backing when you hear the coins dropping into the back of the machine thus indicating the hopper is full?

.. and sorry to sound even thicker but if you check the hopper balance with a Refill-Key and it says (Refill x 75) does that mean there is £75 potentially
    to be won?

If someone could answer these queries i'd be grateful.

    Thanks

    Rich.

if it says REfill pound x 75 (or whatever) it means that 75 pound coins need to be refilled into the hopper before it will start 'backing'.

as for it being a 'pointless' post - thats your humble opinion mate.

least it wasnt a post blaggin info etc... yawn

Oh right, i'm so mis-informed, so am I right in thinking the lower the Refill X amount the better?

Yep the lower the value the better.

I tend to agree with the theory of notechanger not active means a low hopper balance and m/c generally never playing well if it's like this unless I've been unlucky everytime again

I didnt think the note acceptor took cash from the hopper? I thought it didnt affect the payout at all?

I always call it "topping" as it goes "over the top"
