Private Forum Area Now Open!

Ok guys as feedback was good i've decided to give it a go, i've setup a private forum.

I've given the following people access:

These people all had over 100 posts and been a member of the forum for at least one year. I would also like to say thankyou to these core members who have helped turn this into one of the best fruit machines forums there is.

Genuinely hope it works out ok. well done for setting it up.

The only concern i have is that if the only worthwhile discussion ends up on the special forum, then the normal forum may eventually wither & die.. i hope that dosnt happen because in the short time i have been here it has had some quality chat.

shit moves pretty fast round here, eh! offline for one day and look whats happened. didnt quite expect the responses and am pleased & surprised by them. obviously its an issue many have thought about

first of all, i'd like to say thanks and respect to the webmasters/ mods for your speed and skills. top work.
also, crucially, for affirming that theres no question of making it a pay forum. surely, if theres one thing to avoid its anything to do with £20 lifetime membership for secret info bollox (NB sharing login details for existing sites seems one of the first things to do tho)

i hope that a private forum will not lead to a degradation of the current open one. as long as most posts on the open one stay the same as they are now i'll continue to reply (tho a few less pms from complete strangers who are unable to use *search* would be appreciated)

been reading the views on membership, structure, locations and stuff - hhmmmm lot of good points.

IMO length of time and no. of posts is perfect starting point for membership. tho, i can see how this would exclude infrequent posters with decent info and experience, and these are precisely the type you want!
i can think of people who only post every now and then (a couple actually on this topic) and a few more who havent yet but whose input i for one would definitely appreciate
without wanting to sound all anal and offical, is there a case for vetting or recommendations, provision of info as proof of know-how?
one site a few years back - anyone rem the name? - had several multi choice questions on fruits as membership criteria. it was quite amusing

dont see why locations need be a problem if people are reasonable.
vague agreements have developed over time with a couple of players in leeds over locations and areas. nothing formal of course, more a case of realising that if ******* has a run through a particular suburb, lives round the corner or goes in a specific arcade each day common sense says its gonna be harder to make profit there
issues like this only really arise for the f/t players & the paranoid dont they?

i guess how info is posted and organised on the private forum is something that'll develop once its being used. as long as its relatively ego free & open i'll be happy. somewhere where you can say ' i never knew that, been doing it wrong for ages' or 'cant figure this out' without the likelihood of some twat replying 'hahaha munter, you ****ing queer, etc
should it be for posting info and serious discussions? should there be some sort of repository of info?
i'd be happy to see some comprehensive methods posted, that are open to others reviews.
dambuster is a good example - basic approach with a few additional refinements to get JP quicker and boost streaks. or the set-ups for dosh n peck (this is coz i've recently become unsure if i know them all *GRIN* and to me, this is what the forum should be for)
perhaps distributed to members rather than stored on the board?
i keep details of methods and info on machines on a simple excel file referenced by manu, name, date, quality and the like. prints to a few pages and is useful when you stumble across a mach you've not seen for 3 yrs. anyway i smoke/ drink too much to rem everything these days

this post is turning into a essay and work beckons for an hour before lunch. thanks all again - i look forward to seeing what happens here and hopefully see you all on the new forurm
