Anyone on here using operators lists, or has done in past ?
Just wondering what the going rate is, which operators are easiest to get ? Any other advice ?
Have thought about it before, but it reminded me again when i went to a nice local location which had a Dosh & a Bankraid.... they were being loaded on the van when i arrived, replaced by crap from BFM & RED
I was tempted to have a word, but the 2 machine shifters didnt look the most approachable !!
I suppose the other way is to bung someone a nifty or whatever to check out a load of locations for you.
Any advice appreciated.
i tryed to get a list from a guy who works from leisure link seeing how much he wanted and he said they go for anything up to a grand depending on the area
A grand is taking the piss too much especially if the 'list' turned up no locations of machines you knew a good method or empty for.
I cant imagine a list of what company hires which machine is exactly highly sensative but it is probably protected by the data protection act cus it holds customer info which is why they are hard to come by. The LL and some other company guys/gals are around quite a bit even just doing general checks on machines why not just try asking them if they know where any <X>'s are? I cant imagine they are on too much and it aint to much to ask if they have say, seen any Jumpin Jokers around for example.
Why has it come to this?
use the old fashioned way of perusing bars etc and finding good machines etc. I would suspect that a lot of lists would be out of date the minute they were printed anyway! Paying a grand is ecsessive, I agree, would rather spend the cash on goin to a new area and having a tour, even if u end up broke, at least u got pissed on the deal!
or you could do what a mate of mine did. get yellow pages and fone every bar/pub listed. pretend its some sort of student/research guff and just ask what machines they have. most are forthcoming if yoiu can pull off the research angle. even the fone bill is much cheaper than paying for lists.

cfdu - I have thought of that one in the past as well, but never got round to trying it.
One player i know sent emails to people who had similar AOL community interests as him ie drinking/socialising and he got a few decent locations out of it !
My problem is that when i have a decent round established, i tend to slack off on checking other places, but its a good habit to get into to chek some new venues when you are out and about anyway.
my mate tried phoning round a while back but most of the people he spoke to seemed reluctant to say anything, he did get a few though.
