Reading the posts below re Red Alert and the Firemans Lift feature being easier than the Do You Feel Lucky feature made me think a bit. A I'm a teacher and stongly into music you could say I have a good sense of rhythm and pitch which I like to think has helped me in the skill stops stakes of yesteryear. Funnily enough I was playing a Red Alert only last week for the first time in ages and when I got Firemans Lift a mate watched in amazement as I told him I was going to hit the JP without looking at the alpha display. It was all down to the sound being turned up enough to hear the top 'pitch' of the skillstop and using that rather than the alpha to hit the word. Sure enough I got to the top (although I worried a bit myself as I hadn't done it for ages and was well chuffed to still be able to do it). In this respect the Do You Feel Lucky reels were no harder for me..as the red lines were equally spaced apart it was just a case of hitting an 'even' ryhthm for success. It made me think what kind of tricks have you sported in front of your mates to earn that extra bit of respect?
Confucius say "man who know wombat know more than stupid looking monkey"
Confucius also say "man who know Kebab has 60 inch waist"
Confucius finally add "man may deal, but man may not 'know' deal"

There are still certain skillstop features that can be done (stop and step on the older impulses for instence) that can be done easly by simply counting the jackpot rotation...i.e. "1.2.3.4.5.6.7.jackpot...1.2.3.4.5.6.7.jackpot..1. 2.3.4.5.6.7.hit start!".

I assume most here worked that out long ago but it still suprises me when people i know know that the feature is trully true skill and just hit it rondomlly.

Just an of note I know a guy here in Leicester who can seem to hit any true skill stop on any machine... he amazes me everytime.. he can do some skill stops like Kidgloves said, without looking at the display.

I am good at some my self as obviously you need some skill on some machines to really profit . But when the reels spin at like 60rpm and its a blur to my eye but you can still hit JP most times then I have utmopst respect for you.

Hopefully one day I will have these skills.
Why has it come to this?

I met a guy also here in Leicester who could do that! hmmm. He showed me how to stop the jp on spin on it(reel em in). I could only manage it sometimes but he hit it every single time.

Remember going to ATEI show a few years ago... the machines are obviously all on free-play. One of the players was setting up Roman reels on 2 side-by-side Ceasers Palaces, and plumming em bothat same time.

    was i impressed - just a bit !!

Never been that hot at skills myself ( not that its needed much now anyway) - i blame my not brilliant eyesight, but having finally bought some specs for driving & TV after years of nagging from better half, i should be better in future

'fast' skill continue on frutopia is my pinacle, as my skill is never consistant. as i found out by missing the odd 'slow' one.
