last time i got caught pumping a machine the bouncers make me put my trousers back on and took me round the back and twated me.

no seriously im sure we all do it every now and again, its our self destructive nature.

everyone has bad periods but when the money starts rising like that it might be time to lay off for a bit and stop going to the places where you gamble

if you're finding it difficult, you need to talk to someone - girlfriend, mate etc. pm me if you feel the need - ive seen a few people lose it and end up selling CD collections and shit to carry on gambling when they KNOW the end result wont be good coz they just wont stop until they're skint. don't go there.

you might want to try fruitforums.com. Its an emulator site but has alot of ex gamblers there. Alex, who runs it, used to be a serious addict. Its a friendly enough place and plenty of others have posted on there in the past when things have started to get out of control. theres also many stories of success from ex-gamblers, whove now got decent jobs, partners and nice cars - in fact nice cars seem to be the favourite purchase once you've stopped putting shitloads of coins into small slots

once you put your mind to it its not that difficult

I gave up and now never HAVE to play, it used to be like I HAD to play everyday, those emulaters help a lot, I would suggest them.

yes a simple search of a few threads tell their stories (on fruit forums) and i doubt theres anyone here who has not been in the same situation at lease once (ok i have never had to go to the pawn shops with my HI-Fi etc but i have been in the 2 hour walks home after spending bus fare).

They are generally anti-pro but are very supportive of people trying to quit who are addicted try posting a message on there with your situation, they have been there.

Yes,many times in my early,addicted playing days.
Learning to play like a pro was the only way I got out of it.
I got shown an emptier,found out a few others,and within a few months I found the discipline to play nothing that I couldn't empty-even if it meant travelling 100 miles to find one.

I doubt I'd have had the same success if I'd only started playing recently.
Emptiers and really safe methods are chipped quicker than you can blink now.
Seriously,unless you're willing to do play with extreme discipline and determination,you should give up,because it will only get worse..

One of the first things you should do is try to not to get infected by the 'emptier hysteria' that various message boards foster(this one included...).
"If you can't walk in your local arcade and empty every machine in there you must be a 'munter'."
I wonder how many addicts have been created by that stupid belief?
