Surely 50p a credit is going to put most munters out of the market? It used to be that people would just use up the change from their beer and maybe another quid. No munters are going to be up for these machines.........

The only sufferers will be the addicts who can still just about afford them and are hoping for that elusive larger jackpot.....

And if the munters die...then so do the Pro's as the food chain gets smaller. I imagine the Pro's made much more in the days of the £6 jackpot when munters would be tempted to play for longer.....

Well I reckon anyone who puts 50p in a machine for one spin is almost certainly a mug punter...so these things will probably be the BIRTH of the hardened MU[gp]UNTER!

hmm..cant see how people could leave part credits with 50p stake.....I understand 30p but most munters put the odd quid in or use up their change for a credit...........
How many munters will put in a quid for two spins when they can have a go on hangman/millionaire/other quiz machines for 5 mins entertainment?

    50p games

a lot depends on how the manu's develop them

a big problem with the £25 format has been that its effectively the same as the £15. casual players have turned away in big numbers as the chance of getting a sizeable win off their £5 or so of change is bloody remote. at least with the smaller JP format you stood a reasonable chance of getting a medium win.

now unless you are incredibly lucky or prepared to start with a roll of at least £40 theres little chance of seeing a big win and even then it'll be during a force in hich you're only ever gonna take the JP/ top feature.

as the revenue generated by £25 has remained static so suppliers buy less units (coz no more money is going into the cash box), which means the manus have less to put into developing new formats - hence the myriad of clones

50p format will have to be different, possibly offering 1/3 odds of a £1 min win each go. so that it'll not be possible to lose £8 without even the chance oif a win as now but a series of small wins designed to keep you pumping cash in whilst losing more but far more slowly (and enjoyably). if they just re-release monopoly or big cheese with a bigger JP it'll die a gruesome death

There was never better gameplay than when the jackpot ratio was closer to 24:1 ie £4.80jp/20p play. Todays machines at 83 (or 100 on 25p play):1 is a waste of time for Joe Public. They may as well play a club machine or try a tenner in the roulette machine. The greed of the 1980's is still in the minds of manufacturers/breweries/arcades. They have shot themselves in the foot. Even £4.80 machines would streak for up to £50.
