Got one of these (£15 jp, been there at least a year) in my local on the isle of man, so Im sure there's a good chance it's unchipped.

How much in 20p's would I be looking at to get the 1st skillstop? Didn't get any in £15 worth yesterday, could it be chipped or was I unlucky?

Also how much does the hopper hold on these? If I could do it wouldnt want to I.O.U it obv

Finally anyone else gamble on the isle of man? Pretty good here, but back to Uni in a few days...

The skillstop could take at least that + more but you have to be unlucky...or you could get it after 60p!
Even though the machine has been sited for a year..remember that they only have to replace the chip...not the whole machine so it's just as easy to upgrade as anywhere else...also the fact the machine has been sited for a year indicates that it has been rechipped or someone is playing it very cleverly. Average hoppers hold £125.

Why not just play through £5 or so in pounds just too get it backing/offering £1/£2 wins at least? This makes it less tedious and also less hassle of having to get loads of 20p's...

Also I would imagine the chips never need too be changed anyways they more than likely just reflash them using a palmtop or the like and this could be done in seconds and at no real cost.. I'd be suspicious of machines that have previously had CRITICAL updates released still being there 2 years later and expect it still too be P1. If it is rented then you can be sure it is not P1..

remember that a savvy engineer would spot tons and tons of 20 pieces in the cash box, alwerting him if unchipped. I used to do as was said, and run a few quid thru but on 20p stake. If i got cherries hold twice on the last two credits, then i would insert a 20p to see if i got the third. Made things a lot faster sometimes!

cheers for that, may save getting strange looks in the bank asking for xxx of 20ps

thing is over here I imagine the landlords are very slack, I very much dout anyone else knows the method / notice loads of 20's

just have to keep trying it

aye but what you see and what you get are two different things

there is a chip for these buggers that still gives you the 20 hold three times, but doesnt go for the cheat. I had one like that a while back, held the three times, did the job, then when i put the 20 in, nothing at all, was gutted lol. Just letting ya know.
