what gets us playing these machines is it the lights flashing attractivly or the £25 repeat chance in big bright coloured bold letters and when do you become an addict i started playing bandits at 15 in a local snooker centre me and all me mates were pissed and they all seemed to know what they were doing and i played 2 quid {i thought that was a lot of money then to waste in a bandit lol} and won £25 off of it was it that first time win that got me to carry on playing or was it just that i am meant to play these things i mean now even when we know a machine is not playing at all and on rape mode we will sometimes keep on sticking our hard earned cash into the coin slot of a machine why
Why do we do it? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

i think you become an addict when you stop using your common sense. i.e. walking away from a machine when you know its dead.
if i ever reach this i will kindly ask 2 be put down
we've all done this though havent we? or am i speaking for myself
What does this poll mean?
at what *age* did you start,or how many *years ago*?
Addiction...I'm coming round to the view that anyone who can't go a week without playing machines, whether they call themselves a pro or not,is an addict.![]()
We're all addicts, let's face it.Some of us just have it a bit more under control than others.
Look at it this way,if you have a fairly well-paying job with unlimited overtime, but still choose to play machines (bcause you 'know you can beat them') to make extra cash, rather than do overtime with no risk...which would you choose?![]()
Nobody is going to get rich playing fruit machines,so if you have what it takes to play pro(and it takes a *lot* of dedication)why not put that talent to something better? :P
Could it be because you/we are ....addicted![]()
The point is exactly that. People think that they can beat the system. The same as any other form of gambling addiction, whether that be on the horses, at the casino or on the fruities.
The problem is that we always remember the jp that repeated rather than the days when £50 has gone in the things without any joy.
My main problem is always watching them when out socially. You see someone doing a score in the bandit, you lose track of the conversation just wanting to get on the bandit and win his dosh. Sad eh?
You *can* beat the system if you have the right info and the right machines and the necessary discipline(plus the skills) ...unfortunately,it's rare that any one has all of that at the same time and consistently.
A few of us on here have made (and some still do make)consistent profit over time, but can we honestly say it was worth it?
the poll means when did you start playing the things
and is addicition just whatever pub you are in you know the machine or have heard about it {mostly on here for me though} and you have a couple of quid on it i only get serious playing on them before or after work when theres no one in the pub and the bar staff keep me informed on what is going on last week i put a tenner in high flyer and 11 off of win series cause i had to start work and then a couplke of hours later one of the waiters came into the kitchen and said it had just dropped a hundred to this old granny that changed 20 at the bar i have never ever ever got a ton out of one these the most i had was 95 out of a lockbuster in skeggy last year and that took 35 now i played it the day after knowing that some bloke who comes on and plays it every sunday a took a im board for a JP off of one quid and it didn't repeat and i left it alone probably right in doing so has i have not heard of know one getting it since and knowing that i have not played it so to myself i am not an addict but to some people if you are just seen playing a fruity then you are an addict there are some Hypocritical people about these days aren't they but usualy i don't remember all of the big wins but i can map down to the last penny what my big losers are don't know if any of you are the same

I used to be pretty addicted in the past but now I am not so bad..
I still get the occasional days where I will stick money in a machine I know is dead but very rare.. I still get lost in talk with mates when I see someone playing a fruit machine, IE I will keep glancing at it and thinking how much the guy has put in etc.. *sigh*
Common sense is a very good thing too have when it comes too fruities and you'd lose a lot less if we all used it every time, but this does not happen..
Why has it come to this?
i find the best method 2 stop you playing is 2 give your wallet to a mate whos in the pub with you. (preferably one who does play the fruties)
I guess addiction is playing simply because there is a machine in front of you,not knowing anything about how it plays or has payed.Just having a need to put coins in slotsi n order to prove something.
Most of all,it's about chasing losses-the universal gambling disease.![]()
Dannydan-try using punctuation, your posts are very hard to read.![]()
