I'm off to Goose Fair in my lovely home town of Nottingham on Friday...sights, sounds, lights, rides, mushy peas and mint sauce, mmm.
Looking forward to a dabble in the dodgy shed arcades that will be there...madness really to play but it's like the equivalent of say..base jumping...dodgy as fuck but great if you get away with it and make a few quid in the process. I'll be looking for the screwed down to hell sub 70% machines that some operator will have managed to get running with his trusty soldering iron...the older hi tecs that curiously have no lamp at the all important place for the skill feature...the dodgy payout tube/hopper of course (mental note: don't bank more than a fiver) and of course even though this is a travelling fair..the resident sharks that will have taken up residence alongside the kids that will hassle you for 10p whilst the operators take no notice they are doing their bollocks on an over 18's only machine. Wish me luck...I hope I come across a token JP machine just for nostalgia's sake...maybe I could exchange them for candy floss.
