What is a fruit machine

I am located here in the united states and I am conducting some research on gambling. I have run accross teh term fruit machine gambling numerous times but I am clueless as to what it is.

total n00b question I know, if I could I would love to fly over and experience them myself but I cannot. So if anyone can point me in the right direction of how they work and pictures of them I would grately appreciate it.

sorry for taking a whole post on such a stupid question but I am clueless as to this game.

Basically the same as slot machines but with fruit symbols on the reels and based on progressive rather than random percentage payout cycles.

You can buy discs on ebay which have real fruit machine games for your pc to use, like emulated games.

One arm bandits..lol, that describes slots to a tee.

The game that is gaining the most popularity here is video poker. They are slowly taking over our one armed bandits. But i will check out some casinoes here and see if we have fruit slots now that I know what they are and see how they compare with the other games available.

Why buy them on Ebay when you can get them all free?
Try fruitforums.com or poundrun.org-you'll get all the info you need there on where to find and play emulated fruit machines.

Incidentally,these two forums are run by the guys who actually make the emulated machines-and they do it for free;if someone is selling it on ebay they are rip-off merchants.
