well, some terrible experiences on these over the years made me stop playing them really for last few years.
One way to learn not to force JPMs is to try and it and see how much you can lose
interested to see what playing methods others use for these as three have just popped up in pubs on my little run. or do you all stay well away?
which one's Top? find there are slight differences in programmes even on plain old re-glasses (or maybe there just realising the mistakes of the originals!?!)

I know what you mean about forcing them...played a Super Breakout which was giving no joy and for some crazy reason I decided that I wanted a JP from it. So, £160 and two trips to the cashpoint later I manged to get the top feature for a cool £25 payout. Nice. I got very lucky afterwards in that the machine decided to throw out a couple more JPs and hidden features (Block Buster- easy JP) and so I left the machine on IOU £15 and got away with only losing £20. I've learnt my lesson since then!

fire cracker?....thought that was a bellfruit club machine?
if it was an arcadia then shoot em up was the skill feature

Haven't played any new JPMs since Golden Goal.
I used to make loads of money on JPMs until they brought the £25 upgrades in.1996-2000,they(with ACE) were consistently the best machines by far.
Until about 4 years ago you could easily make 300/400 every day just playing JPMs.These days you could easily *lose* that if you spent all day playing JPMs(assuming you could find any now!).
Most recent JPMs have been emulated if you know where to look.
Personally I would stay away from them now-too treacherous since all the rechips. The suck modes on even the better stuff(eg,Showtime) are horrendous.
