If a machine does an IOU what does this mean??

I was playing reel roulette and won £75 But when it came to paying out it got to £25 and came up (iou£25)!!

Mechanic at to come out and sort it!lol

an IOU is when the machine has no money left in its hopper to pay you so it displays 'IOU' ( I owe you). Its nicer than the older machines which just used keep clunking but not paying anything out.....B*****ds

Yea that was hsite, no proof of payment, and it was deliberate!!! I saw a data sheet for an old snakes and ladders (jpm), and one of the jumper settings said 0 - pay out fresh air when empty, 1- IOU when empty!!!!! the shits
