That's what I banked today from a savings routine as follows...everytime I win a JP £5 goes into my 'bank' pocket...it goes home and gets put in the bottle. 14 months later and LOTS of will power not to dip in for extra funds shows a nice sum and keeps the bank manager happy.
Used to do the same with every 20p that came out of the machines but none pay out silver anymore unless you hit the £5 JP's or a few older machines.
I'll start the whole process again tommorow..it's too much of a habit to kill off now.

Did you take the whole lot to the bank in one go?

I find they can be very suspicious when you take in a big wodge of cash.

Yep took the whole lot in one go...the cashier was well amused but I blagged that I'd just saved it from non fruity related stuff over a long time..don't want to appear like a gambling mad fruit machine addict to my bank manager do I? Might not go down well if I apply for a loan in the future...
It took 3 hours to bag all the coins up and 3 heavy duty hand scrubs to get rid of the smell of pound coins.
