Extra Life

I vote this to be a contradiction of terms....it should be called "next go I'm gonna do you life"
All machines over the past 5 years have used the extra life as a big con...you either lose on your next go straight away or if it's a hi/lo number reel then you get offered a middle number all the time you have extra life lit.
Can anyone think of any machines where extra life is actually good? Same goes for boost...(unless on the board on a GG/BA etc.)
Respin..just as crap unless you can hold the reels or playing The Spice Is Right where respin always gave you feature entry.

definatly think things like The Great Escape started this "make the player feel confident" malarky. Stuff like get extra life, next move ? and loose it........shock horror, next move ? again and game over
although its always nice when youv'e got an extra life and your one away from the top feature and you know that 11 you've got is gonna go to a bloody 12

Why? You're on £7 with an extra life. You need to spin 2 or more for JP repeater. You just can't lose. Or can you? Err, yes. Here's how.

1. You spin a 1 on to '?'
   You get 'go back 2'
   You land on '?' and get 'lose'
   You spin a 2 on to '?'
   You get 'go back 2' again
   You get 'Bonus ring' and 4 or less are already lit
   You spin a 2 onto '?'
   Guess what it gives you THIS TIME! Rearrange the following: OVER GAME

Ok then, I reckon we turn this thread over to the most devious way a machine has managed to get out of the jackpot. I am sure we have all had it cheat to stop it paying. Mine include Ceasars Palace on 7 pound and a 12, lower than a 12 for the jp, ANOTHER 12, and LOSE!!!! How pissed off was I? And when you get to 20 quid on a 25 machine when forcing and you KNOW it wont give that last fiver, when you get q mark 'continue' to another qmark'hilo which you win' then ANOTHER qmark to lose. Any others??

I must admit I did once spin a 1 when on £7 and got a simple 'lose' but I had an extra life so £15 repeater here we come!!! I think Sonic was one of the first JPMs where attempting to obtain a JP was like trying to get blood out of a stone.
