...it is not a good idea to play. They are reset and will not be able to afford a streak.

Wait until it has collected about £300 first. In some locations, this will happen in days, in others weeks. I usually wait a couple of weeks just to be sure.

have to disagree on that one, walked in a arcade the other day and they were just fitting one of those 4 seater party time jobbers, no-one else about so gave em a shot and in 1 hour made about 450 clear profit !?!

although these were brand new and hadn't been moved from another location

Yep have to disagree...if the machine is installed as brand new then it has not met it's target % yet and so will play like a dream until it does so. The ones to watch are the machines that are just moved around from pub to pub...let others play first cos you don't know what it just paid at the last site!
