i was wondering how u know if a machine is chipped or has been re-chipped? im sure im not the only one who is wondering this. any help is appreciated

Spotting a rechip can be done through a number of methods....
gameplay....if you know the origional well enough then it should be obvious if it's been chipped because it's not doing that 'thing' that 's been getting you a few quid for the last month.
Some machines attract mode give away signs of rechips but in all cases the rechip sign is different on every machine so you can't narrow the answer to this one down to one solution.

or ask the barman, worked today for me, a 2 machines were playing minging and i asked the dude if someone had taken jackpot and he said nah theyve just be reprogramed
i was gutted to say the least

high flyer and fast n furious didnt know that much about them but theyre chipped now

rechips are spotted thru many ways, here is my (rather terse) list

1.attract mode, ususally the way, something changes in the attract sequence (such as CASH in the 7 seg display in PF etc), also more subtle such as the lotta luck one from long ago. P2 said L.O.T.T.A whereas P3 said LOTTA unsure whether this is done by programmers to alert each other, or for engineers, so they can spot an unchip easily

2. gameplay, as mentioned, if the game changes so you cant get that 'special feature' anymore then is probably a rechip

3. startup, sometimes when the machine is rebooted, it will tell the software version, if knowlegeable, u can tell the rechip, will say something like v0.9 for the unchip and v1.0 for the rechip

4.Assorted, combination of gameplay alteration and any or none of the above. Sometimes there is no way of telling a rechip e.g. LOTR or HILO where only getting the feature or cheat situation will alert you.
