Well Cannock was very very very good!!!! If you players actually make anything then I would be suprised, let me list the machine:
Shipleys:
Red Arrow: 30 in 90 out
Neptunes Treasure: 5 in 25 out
Jack the Kipper: 2 in 7 out
Fruits U Sir: 20 in 59 out
Yates:
Nitro: 20 in 45 out
King KO: 25 in 75 out
Wetherspoons:
Golden Dragon: 30 in 20 out
Fruits U Sir: 45 in 59 out
Wildfire: 32 in 104 out
The Royal Oak:
Diamond Mine: 5 in 15 out, then forced, won 25 from 25
Forced the Impulse (roulette thing) 40 in 25 out
And you say you play there.................
90 from a(presumably) chipped RA??!!Is that on 15 or 25?
To be honest,Justanewone/Dave,it looks to me with that list like you took a lot of chances that mostly paid off.
I'd be interested to know if you play those sort of machines all the time.
I don't see many there that are exactly safe bets.
Too many in that list are the kind that can give you major grief, and I for one wouldn't have played most of them without being damn sure they were ready.
Would you say you had a lucky day or was it mostly skill or a bit of both ?
come on dave... share the secret
smoke me a kipper, i'll be back for breakfast
Well Slotterman,
In answer to your question I do play those machines all the time, although Red Arrow's are hard to find these days, on 15 anyway (which is what I was playing). Nitro I will always play as 9% of the time you will get your money back when trying to judge how well its playing. Golden Dragon's are always money makers, although I lost I did get told when 30 in and had 20 in the bank that someone had taken 75 out earlier so I left it. Fruits U Sir is easy provided you know what features will be offered on what number and at what exchange, and what bonuses it will give, easy money. Wildfire was dropping after 4 quid, and if you know how the impulse streak pot works you know its worth the money.
At the end of the day I used my own judgement on the machines, I may have lost a few quid here and there but at the end of the day it is all down to YOURSELF judging how well the machine is playing, but at the end of the day the answer to your question, was it luck or skill? is...
90% of playing fruit machines is luck I would say as it is mainly timing
10% is skill (well these days anyway)

Fair answer.
Unchipped RAs are very rare indeed.Just to think,I had about 20 local to me a couple of years ago..
I agree Red Gamings are relatively safe machines, unless you hit one on the 'reflex suck',they're not much fun then.
GD,can't go far wrong (unless recently hammered),but can be very boring.
Wildfire I wouldn't play because I've had a couple of bad experiences that put me right off them-seen one take 100+ over the back from a force and still not streak.
As you say these days,it's mostly down to location, luck, timing and persistence.
