Addictions have been around as long as excessive behaviors or habits have existed. Depending on the definition and its purpose, the word addiction would emphasize things as physiological or psychological dependence.
I think that it can be challenging for the intense players to differentiate between a habit and an addictive behavior.
To differentiate :
A Habit is a behavior pattern that tends to be repeated frequently and has become nearly automatic; has developed by repetition or exposure, usually through conscious choice;
an Addiction is developed through physiologic exposure to a substance or initiation to something that provides a reward plus incentives that may be in the form of stored conscious memories or cues that are reminders of that reward, so it is not hard to determine which kind of behavior has person : )
i'm not a gambler but a frequent poker player....but i have seen the problems what an actual gambler goes through....well its all upto u should know your limit how much u can afford to loose if u know that...than i think u wont face any probs

Thanks for the post, it is a good reality check on all who play and gamble, but do not understand that they are already in the quicksand. Thankfully for me, i am not addicted as yet. Once again kudos to you for bringing out these questions out here on a a public platform like this one.
