Why there are many poker games? It is all the same?

i was wondering why there are many poker games, Video Poker, Texas Holdem and Poker. Can anyone tell me what is the advantage, disadvantage and different of those poker game??

There are many poker game like Texas Hold'Em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 5 Card Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw, Stud, 7 Card Stud, 5 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo, Razz, Badugi, 32 Card Poker, Telesina etc available today to play online and offline. the most famous and widely played worldwide is Texas Hold'Em online and offline too.

Differences:
Their are few basic rules to play each games, the card dealing, beating, holding, closing etc is differ from the others. Their are no such advantage or disadvantage for different games, it's totally depend on likeliness of players.

The only difference from those poker games are the rules what to play them, the are a lot of poker variations and since poker is a renowned casino game for both live casino and at online casino i guess those poker game creator like Doyle Bronson give a little twist to the game to make poker more challenging.

A slight variation in the rules can completely change a game and making it more challenging as the previous poster also pointed out.

Texas holdem wasnt the first poker game. In fact I remember learning it something like 7-10 eyars ago (which I was reluctant to do at first

I used to play 5 card stud first and always thought that was the best variation....

Me too, I don't have any idea what's the difference between those poker games..I haven't tried it yet..maybe next time I'll try to play with it

Actually it is much easier to tell you what's common among all poker varieties: they all share the same ranking method for hands. i.e. royal flush is the best hand, then for-of-a-kind, full house, etc.

Other than that the rules and even formats change dramatically. For example - video poker is actually a slot-format game which uses the poker hand ranking to establish winnings.
