Default Destroying ten man sit and go's

Ten man sit and go's - Newbie information

If you are new to the world of poker and even more so, the world of internet poker, then as a new player, i suggest you try sit and go's.

This is how i began, as they serve as a great final table experience and you get the meet the devil in his back garden, how players truly display themselves at the table, because in these ten man sit and gos, there really is no place to hide.

How you should play them ! The first stage

After starting your sit and go, you'll be seated nicely with nine other warrior wannabes from around the world, in the early stages you'll begin to notice that around two of them become seriously aggressive, a few will play very rarely and then more so, each to their own in between.

In this first stage, with between 10 and 7 people at the table, don't get involved unless you have to, only play high pairs greater than ten, and suited connectors within the face card range.

Let everyone else get messy, you must bide your time.

    The second stage

When we're down to anywhere between 6 and 5 people at the table, your game needs to change slightly, if you keep things tight for any longer like in the first stage, then the guys with the chips have you marked and they'll crush you later on.

So aswell as playing the cards in the first stage, add in any pair now and also any suited connectors for a possible draw. If you do have good cards here, don't be afraid to raise in position.

Again though, don't get involved with horrible hands, you time is nearly coming.

The third stage - making the money

When we're down to just four players remaining, we have ourselves a situation within the bubble, meaning that someone has to go out in order for the others to reach the money. Now i guarantee you, that two of those four will be afraid, including you, that's three people all afraid of missing the money.

Do you sit back, no you do not.

Now you must play like your after the first seat, raise and re-raise with any pair greater than 7, call raises with face pairs and don't be afraid to bluff at this point.

Even people who have something decent, will hold out and throw down their best pockets in order to make that third place, and guess what, they won't make it.

If you play for first when there are four people left, you'll almost every time make it through.

Give it a go, see what you think.

But if you're starting out, sit and gos are very good for experience and more than prepare you for larger satalites and greater tournements.

    Good Luck

If anyone else has some decent single table tournement tips, i'd love to hear them, it seems for me, this is the best part of the poker line up, you get the final table treatment from the word go.
