Default Is this a good spot to 4 bet??

    Average stack is about 11K
I have been card dead for the first hour or so and have had very few spots to mix it up (or failed to spot them when they did occur) and my image is probably very tight

BB is sitting out as well

    No real read on SB

I think you just picked a bad spot to be aggressive. Personally id fold althought i have a feeling your gonna say you won a very nice pot in the end seeing as i suck at poker and am ALWAYS wrong lol

dude, your image is clean and he's small 3-betting you. He has a monster. Standard steal spot, pity he woke up with something.

+ stacks are not ideal either.

The motivation to 4 bet here is born more out of frustration of being card dead imo. I know this cause it's the sort of thing i do!!
Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.

steal attempt is good, but if you get played back like this you should let it go

    thanks for replies.
I did in fact (as you may have guessed) 4 bet all in and managed to get it through to add 25%to my stack.

I just thought that the SB would 3 bet light here and had left enough back to fold to a 4 bet.

In hindsight, (and confirmed by these replies) this was a -EV move. I think I should always have something back when 4 bet bluffing and make sure I have the goods when 4 betting allin (which is what I normally do)

At the time I was saying "are you crazy" and I just had to post it because it was successful this time and I'd hate to spring a leak for the future.

Woody pretty much hit the nail on the head, saying the move was born out of frustration. I was also massively influenced by the BB sitting out. I would have respected the 3 bet more if the BB was not sat out.

However, I was able to FT this tourney, which is always nice, but was first out which is very bogus after 4 hours+ work
