Default How would you play this spot?

Pretty sure I have the best hand, but never comfortable when I have the low end straight with plenty of other people in the pot. Turn brings a second heart. I called the flop to try and get some extra value from another guy behind however got 2 callers.

How much would you bet out here?

    So the pot is 1640

Me personally I would probably bet between 900-1000 if you are worried about the heart though you can make it a little more. Taking it down now is fine imo it's almost half your stack. If anyone now has a heart draw you dont want to let them in cheap same goes if anyone is holding the 8. If somebody has a set they will probably come with you but just pray the board doesn't pair on the river.

If anyone is holding the 89 its time to get a new mouse/keyboard. If some donk is holding the 48 its time to start taking names and hunting down that Mutha F*cker

*edit* Dan i think both our maths is wrong pot is 1680 lol

i'd shove then go focus on another table and check back to see if i've got any chips about 30seconds later.
Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.

haha I always do this, If im allin I minimize the table and check the lobby for my new chip stack lol.

Thanks guys! I bet out 900 and it folded around. Just thought I'd check to see if people would check/shove, etc...

Think I got all the value I could out of that particular hand.

Cheers. Figured a strong raise on the flop would get me no further action as its a scary flop.

The only way I could get "extra" value was to call and rope in some of the folks behind me lol.

Ok ill bite. Dan, why do you like the flop call? I feel like there are so many bad turn cards we dont wanna see. I would prefer to raise flop and try and get it in. Oh and of course fold PF lol. Bad hand, position etc. Usually we just get into flush over flush situations or make second best two pair combinations with this hand.

    How can you say this?

Im in the BB and when it comes around to me theres about 420 in the pot and only 80 to call. I'm never folding them odds even with 72o. We cant fold and wait for AA,KK,AK all day long. Sometimes u need to widen your range and this was a perfect spot to do it.

Because you are not getting good enough odds, you are not closing the action, you're position means even if you flop a draw you can't really pursue it and you have a reverse implied odds situation where you'll make a ton of second best hands.

I see your point. But I'm happy calling in this spot pretty much most of the time.
