Let us say we are comfortable but not secure at ie 2500 chips. There are 7 players still in. To our left are two shorties, with c 1000 each. We are BB, the blinds are 200/400 a40. SB calls our BB. We notice that the clock is < 1 minute until the blinds go up to 300/600 a60. Is it unethical to wait on the timer before making our play vs SB, (whatever it might be), so that the shorties have to find the next level of blinds, and are more or less compelled to go to war? Or is this std? All's fair in love & war & poker?
"That's a typical shabby Nazi trick, Wilson"
I would be waiting.
Today, I have mostly been : ...
Usually at about this time someone knocks on my door, or my mouse breaks, or my hands become temporarily paralysed, or something like that.
I sit tight and wait, but if it's me who's short i keep an eye on the blind level increase and shove em before the increase
XXX
FWIW I think I'd reluctantly decide to run the clock down.... before typing in something along the lines of, "hehe blinds too big for no chips players, u loose ty bye"
Im sure i have played a sng somewhere that was 9 or 10 hands per level (9 or 10 player full ring). Pacific maybe or those horrible titan/CD sites. CAnt remember but i quite liked it.
regarding etiquette: firstly, timing the blinds and stalling is all part of the game so u shouldnt feel bad, and shouldnt complain when its done to you.
Secondly, its online, so fuck em!
