Wsop 2009?

Hey Guys,

Is anyone planning on heading to Vegas for the WSOP this year?

I'm hopefully heading over after my exams (early June), would like to play a few prelims although unsure of which events i'm interested in atm... As I'll see how the BR looks nearer the time coupled with my results in the Poker Stars sattys startin in April.

I understand a few of you are spondored? So I'm assuming a few of you will be going?

I may have to end up going on my todd as a WSOP Vegas trip isnt one for non-pokering friends / the gf lol.

Would be nice to meet up with some "non-yank" like minded individuals over there.

I currently live in Bristol as I go to UWE but am finishing up my final year at the moment. Although I'm from Gloucestershire.

As I say, would be nice to hear from anyone planning on heading over

Im a standard guy lol, enjoy footie - glory united supporter, although should theretically support Chelt .. cough !

Been playing online since 17, although havent really been able to fully focus on it as education comes first for me. And now its almost over its time to take that BR and hit Vegas before the career starts lol.

whoa reminds me of my life 5 years ago!!!
i went to uwe also, and am also from gloucestershire too. well tewkesbury, hardly civilisation but it will do.
Which campus you at??
i was a st matts boy during my day.

sadly in response to vegas, im a working stiff now with fiancee in tow so doubt ill be goin unless i sat in to an event. good luck though

As for WSOP i do actually plan on attending this year. Going to have a bash at a few events i believe. However things are subject to change!!

I believe the plan is to go with a few mates from Chelt (poker players and non players). The plan for us is to get a villa as we are ballas! I have no intentions on staying in the strip as a few of us are too much degen gamblers.

Really??? thats cool. Im at Frenchay doing BSc(Hons) Multimedia Computing, so basically animation and interactive web/game design. Pretty fun. Living in Horfield atm as its my final year. Got to live in Dublin for my placement year which was awesome, working for eBay lol. v Cool

That sounds like a cool idea.

Yeah everything is subject to change for everyone I rek. All depends on alot of things, including satty results. Only really wana dent the BR if I have to. May even set aside some of the BR exclusively for sattys. Not sure yet though.

Hmm lucky_scrote??? that name rings a bell. I think you are just behind me in the Pocket 5s online rankings for Gloucestershire lol. haha ! Although i imagine ur more of a Cash game specialist.

You know which events your playing yet? You buying in or playing sattys when your over?

Yeah id love to take the gf, although it seems like an absolute grind so not sure what she'd be doing while im at the tables.

Chris Wallace is awesome in a cantankerous old man way. My favourite lecturer, as he taught me Java. The slot machine project I did as a programming assignment - was what gave me the idea that there was money to be made in gambling. Then this site, poker.co.uk, and the others followed. I employed a student from UWE for a year as an industry placement. That worked out really well too, and he still works for us occasionally now - though he is living in Australia at the mo.

Yeah i've just submitted my final year project. Along with a 22,000 word report lol.

I made an interactive e-learning system for key stage 1 in Flash/AS3. Although i implemented PHP/MySQL for the login database and XML for some quizes etc...

I'd love to get into a Flash development role, ideally freelance one day although need some "commercial" experience first.

Damatrix said taking the gf to vegas would be like taking sand to the beach LOL! Anyhow I plan on entering 5 smaller wsop events then on the second trip just play the ME. Prob wont bother with sats.

Ah really? Where bouts do you play? or is it events like the GUKPT??? You played Gala in Brist?
