how has won this game?

hi, im new to poker (texas hold um) and still learning. can someone please tell me who has won in these two games and why. much appreciated thanks.

GAME 1: whos got the better flush?

player 1 - 5 spades + 5 diamonds
player 2 - 9 spades + 5 clubs

on the table:

- 3 spades
- 6 spades
- A spades
- 10 spades
- 3 clubs

GAME 2: who got the better high card?

player 1 - Q clubs + 10 diamonds
player 2 - Q spades + 4 Hearts

on the table:

- 8 hearts
- 5 clubs
- A clubs
- 9 diamonds
- A diamonds

First hand the 95 wins as that player is playing AT963 and the other is playing AT653. In the second hand the QT wins as it is playing AAQT9 and the other is playing AAQ98

got another confusing one:

player 1 - 7 clubs + 4 spades
player 2 - 4 diamonds + 5 diamonds

on the table:

- A hearts
- 4 hearts
- 3 clubs
- 3 hearts
- 8 clubs

Both players have the same hand here - 4433A - and the pot is split

Each player makes the best 5 card hand he can with the 7 available (2 hole cards and 5 community cards), so

Player 1 has 4433A (7 clubs and 8 clubs not used)
Player 2 has 4433A (5 diamonds and 8 clubs not used)

therefore both players have the same 5 card hand, and therefore it is a draw (the pot is split)

I really suggest you get a poker book, which may will explain things better than on a forum.

hi, thanks for the info. i understand the rankings but we get confused when we have the same cards. i will look into the book. thanks for the help, much appreciated
