I would like some advice on how others would have played this hand. Looking back, I think I played this badly, but I would be interested to see what others would have done. It was a 20 seater Sit n Go and on the final table. I was chip leader at the time and lost most of my stack on this.

With it folding to SB and him min raising my BB i decided to call with reasonably connected suited cards. Should I have just folded here? I was defending my BB but perhaps this was my mistake. I then hit middle pair and with his smallish bet I thought he was making a steal. Again, I could have folded but I though my 10 was good. I didnt fancy just calling because another over card would leave me not knowing where I was, so i re-raised all in and as you can see he had top pair.
With the blinds the size they were I thought this was the right play at the time, hand the blinds been a lot smaller in comparison to stack size then I wouldn't have got in to this mess. Im trying to improve my game so would be interested to see how others would have played this?
Thanks
Oh yuck. Fold PF. We dont wanna be getting involved with this hand here.

Fold pre-flop. Unless you're pretty sure his range is wide, in which case you could move allin preflop when there's a decent chance he can fold. Leaving it untill he's got nearly a third of his stack committed when he's out of position is just asking for trouble. In the unlikely event I called preflop, I'd have folded to his flop bet.
I can understand the call of his min raise...you are getting 3 to 1...you have position on him....he's just min raised your BB in true "Ghey and go" style.....
However you are commiting a big portion of your chips here so your only real options IMO are fold (the standard conservative option) or shove which should only be made with a solid read on the player. Dont read too much into the fact that he has put 1/5th of his stack in so may be prepared to go all the way with his hand. Loads of players "min raise / fold to reshove" in these SNGs (Harrington is an advocate of this strategy for SNGs), you just need to have the read..
There are some idiots who make the minraise there PF with rubbish, but they are generally the exception. More often a minraise here means they have a pretty decent hand. In this situation I'd usually call PF, and just call/fold on the flop.

IMO he should just shove with his hand in the SB. He has 10BB and if youre thinks your remotely sensible he knows your calling with a tiny range of hands. He definitely has to fold or shove though dependent on his read on the BB (you).
I think we can just fold here and if he MR's our BB again we can be more aggressive with a more suitable hand hopefully.

A def fold, no other play. Even 3 handed i would fold

Hmmm..
Free advice for what it`s worth . When in this position ..
Know exactly what type of flop you want to see and more importantly what you will do if it does or doesn`t arrive, ie only call here if you are capable of laying second or even top pair down after the flop if it looks like the correct play . In this case you caught a small piece of the flop and then got piggy against a player setting a trap for you, but at least you realise you played it badly so there is hope for you yet.
i think fold pre flop. as you said you called because you had reasonably connected suited cards though these types cards aren't the sort you want to be playing in a sit n go where the blinds are relatively big to stack size. as they are highly unlikely to connect the way you want them to and if they just pair there be hard to play post flop
Another thing worth pointing out in these situations where you're given "odds to call" in the blinds is that your EV is based on seeing all 5 cards. By just calling you don't get these odds, and you don't have the stack to start chasing draws when you're faced with the inevitable c-bet on the flop. This is just another way of saying what timchump did above.
I'd probably stop calling in this situation when blinds go beyond 100-200.
Given the way it turned out though, I'd agree with Diceman and call the flop bet and see what he does on the turn.
