The one who goes out first is to miss out surely?
10 players left, 2 tables left, We are at the FT and money bubble, tourney is hand for hand.
What happens when a player from each table is eliminated in the same round, but because of stalling on one table, one of the players is eliminated a few minutes after the other?
Is the first one out the bubble or the one with the less chips?
The one who goes out first is to miss out surely?
the 2nd table is still playing the same hand so even though a player has been eliminated from the other table it is still not the final table untill the 2nd table has finished the hand.
depending on what sort of place your playing at the poker room can either be fair and split 9th place with both players as the final is only 8 players now and a 9th place has to be paid out.
Or the 9th place prize goes to the player who had the most chips before being knocked out,
The card room I play in would (and has) done the 1st option as the 2nd option could only be used if you had a supervisor at each table noteing player chips at the start of each hand.
Pretty sure that they each get half of 9th place. Otherwise what is the point of even doing hand-for-hand? I think if this is online then the guy with the biggest stack at the start of the hand gets the money, but I doubt this would happen in a casino. By the time anybody thought to ask it, the winners of the hands might have already scooped in their pots so nobody can work out how much the players had.

thanks. The reason I asked was because I was asking myself why do players deliberately slow the game down when online tourneys are playing H4H? These people are such 'tards!
I guess you could slow down a bit to get the blinds moving along quicker and therefore get a short stack even shorter.
Oh right! I thought it would have been first out doesn't get paid!
I never seen it happen though yet!
I've been in a situation where it was the bubble and Hand-for-hand, and I have deliberately used all my time-bank before making a decision. The reason for this was that I had a decent hand, and was in good shape to call a bet which would put me all-in, but a similar situation was happening on the other table. By stalling, I can (hopefully) see how the other table pans-out and if the other player gets eliminated, I may fold and hang on to the final table. Likewise, if the other player doubles-up, then I will take the risk. Its the only reason I can think of for dragging things out, as if both are eliminated it comes down to the chip-count prior to the elimination
