poker league

i have several questions about poker leagues
i keep hearing people chatting about poker leagues, are these online leagues or local poker clubs who meetup every so often and play teams from other clubs ?
are there any forum members in these leagues ?
if it is online can anybody join ?

Depending on where you live theres probably an LPL (Live Poker Linkup or something) near you. Theres a lot of people from the Manchester Live Poker Meetup on this forum. I know Cooste does something with it and Tony 1 Leg is involved as well I think. A lot of the Bristolian's on the forum play in that one as well. I would imagine someone can give you a link to the site and you can look for something in sheffield, or failing that someone might be able to get you a direct link to a Sheffield meetup.
