Ok last Sunday I'm playing in a $20 buy in deepstack with 60 runners, $1500 guaranteed. I have about 26k as chipleader, 7k ahead of second place. 15 left, 10 paid, . The whole site goes down (pokerroom). After an hour they tell us they will not restart the tourney as too many players disconnected. I send an e-mail to ask what would happen and get a reply saying we would get compensation and that my position would be taken into account. I now get a message saying that they have just refunded my buy in. How can this be fair? Surely the prize pool doesn't belong to them, only the rake does. None of the 45 runners already out are going to ask for their stake back so that leaves the site $1200 in pocket. They would make a fortune if they did this regularly. The very least they should do is share it amongst the remaining players. Has this happened to anyone else? What would pcuk do in this case?
Good Question, How does P. Cok deal with this Matt?
"That's a typical shabby Nazi trick, Wilson"
Ok.
Same happened here I was chipleader in the 25k rebuy, do I get compo too?
Can you find out if I'm lying?
But to be fair if I was in your situation and only got what I pad refund, I would never make a deposit on PCUK again, because that's just farcical. I'm sure it would be appropiare to give you something extra.
Would the site know the player positions when it went down ? If they had a list of players still in and thier chipstacks then I agree you have been unfairly treated.
However if the crash lost the data than all they could do would be to refund buy-ins - I would still camplain though !
complain complain and let them know your a member of forums and have asked on the forum/s, know need to say which forums if its fair to only get your buyin back i would also ask for the rake to as its a service charge which the site did not supply . If you tell them that think it might help as bad word of mouth will not do them any good in getting new players and keeping the 1s they have
every single site I know pays out by chipcount...without fail.
I can only assume pokerroom are such noobz they gave everyone (including busted players)their buy in back, or the crash resulted in all the relevant data, being lost.
I cant believe they would wish to make a profit from this situation.
Oh right, sorry Matt.
But surely they would split it? like for the chips like they do in casino's?
