Do you actually think tournaments are worth entering?
i know tournaments with huge prizes can be worth it simply because its huge prizes!and you might get a run of luck and win a large amount
but with things like sit and goes - with 45 people - say the top 7 get paid
do you think thesea re even worth entering? because, in the long run , you will lose money on them? (the last 'money place' being double your money) because that means you need to place in at least one or two regularly jsut to get your money back (assuming you dont place high)
so basically just wondering, do you even bother with sit and goes that much??
Yes I think tournaments are worth while.
Yes I play sit and goes pretty often (5 man and HU ones).
Yes I will play 100-200 player MTT's when I finally get Bankroll issues sorted out.
Yes I will probably lose money on all 3 of these for a while![]()
If you play just one or two for highish stakes, then don't bother with them.
If you play one or two for lowish stakes, then play them. The entertainment you can get for just a few quid is definitely worth it.
If you play a lot, and think you are better than the donks who generally play, then play as many as you can.
You start off playing poker thinking that it has some positive entertainment value, but in the end this turns into negative stress value. So if you're not making any money it's definitely just not worth it. Online poker is boring anyway so why would you want to be doing that breaking even or losing when you could be out in the real world dancing in the streets and singing in the rain?

Yeah but most people make money when they go to work.

Walking away is easy. The hard part is standing up.
I agree with tfielding, for a small outlay you can have a bit of fun in a tournament. What i have noticed recently in online and live play is the amount of players who seem to get no enjoyment out of the game.
I hope if i ever get to that stage i will quit rather than playing on and getting stressed out by poker.
