I think that poker is like childbirth

People sometimes ask women why they get pregnant again after going through the excruciating agonies of childbirth once, and scientists reckon that the brain is simply programmed to forget the pain on sight of the child, because it causes such an overwhelming hormonal rush of happiness that the short-term pain memory is blanked before it can take root in the cerebrally-separate long-term memory areas.

I've come to the startling insight that poker must be the same, because no matter what an awful run you go on, the sheer joy of hitting two good hands in a row and scooping a couple of monster pots makes you completely forget getting donked out on by Italian twats cracking your AA all in with 25o for three solid weeks beforehand.

Also, sometimes it makes you shit yourself.
