I sometimes see on Sharkscope that players have ROIs of like 500% because they include multi-table STTs (contradiction-in-terms), just because they can be found in the STT section.

Re: previous post
Sorry AJ messed up my calculations, was distracted by sit n gos I was playing at that moment in time Yea 65 tournaments x $0.40 (20% rakes) = $26.00 'Normal rake 10% $13.00 Therefore I've effectively been raped of $13.00 but as I say i'd like to finish this challenge knowing that whatever ROI I do manage to achieve I have that margin to work with. To be honest I have a feeling I'll be more successful at my next level ie. $5.50 due to the drastic reduction in absolute bingo players, and the increase of fairly knowledgable but all the same weak players who I can outplay. ] I plan for a big update this weekend |

The largest SNG's I have seen are on FT and they have 90 players
A friend of mine won a couple and as dice said had a stupidly high ROI of 145%. He kept on bragging to me but he had only played something like 30 games. I said if it is still up there after 200-300 games I would be impressed. 100 games later and it is now 30% |

I've decided to take up the challenge, a bit of brotherly competition Dean?
I'm playing normal speed $10+$1 9 seat Sit N GO's at Full Tilt Poker. I feel like I have a bigger edge at Full Tilt as the blinds go up slower. Up to now I've done really well, I presume there must be some luck involved as my ROI is ridiclious at the moment. Oh, I'm also playing 4 tables at once which I'm handling at the mo. |

Aye, PokerStars actually run 180 player SNGs. I think they are the only site big enough to be able to do that.

How's the challenge going Dean?
Will post my results later but they're something like: Start Bankroll: $300 Current bankroll after 70 $11 S n G's: $570 ROI: 35% Strategy - Pre-Aggressive/Post-Agressive - This generally means I get people at the table calling me a bad player because I'm raising the blinds all the time when I'm in position and re-raising when I think somebodies stealing with crap. I rarely get called because people are waiting for monsters to trap me but when I do I'm usually behind and know it. If I do get called with a massive hand I almost always get paid off due to my style, probably why most of my cashes are 1st not 2nd or 3rd. I've adpoted a silly rule that if I bet pre-flop I almost always put around half pot bet in post-flop. This seems to work 3/4 times so pays off. Anyone got some good tips on this? Anybody got any ideas when it's time to move up to $22? What bankroll should I have what ROI should I be aiming for and after how many games. Full results to be posted soon! Dave |
