    Default Pet hates in poker

i havent been playing poker that long

but already there is stuff that annoys me haha

    1) - when you are big blind and have been dealt a crap hand like say 2 6 off suit or whatever and everyone folds. the reason this annoys me is because is the small blind raises 9especially if they have a much bigger stack than you) there is nothing you can do about it and need to fold! (unless you bluff...) - even if someone else raises on the table it just makes me feel better lol and i find i less annoying

    2) people that go all in, on the first hand (ive seen it a few times - it happened the other day and someone actually called - turned out the guy going all in first had jacks and the caller had aces...what an idiot tho the 1st person!) - as in, NOT in a re-buy event

    3) when you get an amazing hand and everyone folds pre flop - or you raise slightly and everyone folds - i was short stacked just now in a sit and go got bullets and everyone folds - how typical?

    4) people who raise the minimum i.e. blinds are 20/40 it goes around the table and someone raises it 40 lol seriously what is the point?

anyone else have pet hates or agree with my ones??

Can live with the first three but no 4) is a pet hate of mine. It does amuse me though when there has been 4 limpers and the SB then min raises. It amuses me even more when some of the original limpers fold!!

For number 3, remember the old adage. Better to win a small pot than lose a big one.

And while I don't do it often, and pretty much never early in a tournament, the point of the min raise from late position would be to get rid of the raggy blinds (like the 62o that you mentioned) and also to see if the limpers from early are sandbagging a monster as they'll re-raise at that point and you can get away cheaply.

Then again, if we all played the same way, we'd all be losing players to the rake and juice.

The problem with min raising to get rid of people is that you're giving them the odds to call with any old crap...

agree. I wouldn't be going anywhere in the BB with my 62o if there was a min raise.

I think only 1 pet hate...... the idiots who get completely out played then hit runner - runner to win the hand / game (so far no problem) but then they type any of the following......

    -bye
    -hahahaha
    -{anything in a forign language I dont understand} - always sounds derogatory

When the pot is like 1k+ and the person min bets for like 20 or 50?
    like wtf does that mean??

and then you call him, and he does it again on the turn and again on the river and then shows a bluff! and u win with your low/mid pair!

    yeah lol

i agree also with the person who said about people commenting - one that annoys me is people saying sorry

i dont know if they say sorry to wind you up or genuinely mean sorry

but why be sorry? i wouldnt have called / bet - if i wasnt prepared to lose those chips...

i tend to for the above reason ignore what most people write

    My two penneth:

Rudeness and stupid comments like 'haha' or 'ty' when they take your chips. If I know them, or have chatted, then fine, but when a complete stranger thanks me it makes my blood boil. (Maybe that's why they do it! LOL)
