Possibly one of the worst beats i've ever had, but how well or badly do you think i played it?
It's sent me on a bit of tilt session today which has resulted in me uninstalling all poker programs until i feel i'm ready to get back on it.
Let me know your thoughts.
Peace.
Jon.
It is unlucky, I would have just called instead of raised on the turn to see the river card and then just called his value bet. but thats because I like to see all the cards before I go allin lol, and im a fish![]()
SAVAGŁ aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Afterwards i thought to myself....why didn't i raise on the flop, i had the draw, 8 outs to the straight. He may have folded with only mid-pair, but on the flipside if i hadn't let him see the turn then there would be no opportunity for me to stack him, the ace was a great turn card, the river was just downright evil.
Cooler obv. The all in on the turn was a substantial overbet, im suprised you didnt lose youre customer with that bet when you were that deep.
"You have to give way too much action to get way too much action"
Agreed, it was an overbet. But the nature of the opponent was that he was taking massive risks with his chips, and i thought if he did have 2 pair, he would probably call....fact of the matter is he hit every card he needed consistently and stacked nearly everyone.....i was totally freaked out by this to the point where i emailed pokerstars and asked for an investigation, he made some great calls that i couldn't understand how he could make them....he also made some bad calls....i can't help thinking the one against me was a bad call.....set/straight anyone? The all in on the turn was a substantial overbet, im suprised you didnt lose youre customer with that bet when you were that deep.
Yes but you keep saying if only i did this and that - but all i can say is....... thats poker
in the future - if you repeated this hand many times - you would win the majority - you just have to accept on this one he got lucky and you lost.
But the one thing that strikes me is your huge raise - at the end of the day - if your putting those chips in you have to be prepared to lose all of those chips.
but i dont get why you didnt do a much smaller raise
and anyway - that pot was going to end in disaster for someone
2 pair vs. a straight - then a full hosu vs a straight!
