Poor Rod has a tough table draw with Dave Colclough two to his right and Ben Vinson on his immediete left, Drago has Julien Thew on his immed left. Looking through the field I'm quite glad that I'm playing day 1b. Thew, Colclough, Vinson, Singleton, Dale :-0, Akery, Holden, Hussain, Vinnicombe and Dempsey all playing today. Just hope that doesn't mean day1b is even tougher.

Did you see that Coral is giving Harbourside as favourites to produce the winner? Matt says thats cos there's more of them but its still pretty good looking at the competition.

main event = 500£ entry and a meagre 130 runners. pretty poor imo.

Cardroom capacity = 140, two starting days + alternates means field will be c.300, largest field this season + comprable to GUKPT + more importantly the max that they can hold with two starting days.

I think getting 300 people to pay £550 is quite a feat. It seems they've learnt quite alot since last year.

I should also add that Jason Bartlett and Scott McCarthy both post on these forums. Jason's username is something like Chockee and I forget Scott's.

ah didn't know it was a two-day affair. Good stuff, should see some fat prizes.

I Wouldn't go so far as to compare the field to a gukpt field... the extra 550 quid make a lot of difference in the skill level of the players you get imo.

I wonder if those c*cksuckers at gala will be airbrushing out sponsor logos again if the winner is wearing one.

Nice to see two LPL regulars out of the Bush Pub playing this afternoon, worth mentioning Jason Bartlett is also off to Vegas next Thursday to play the $1500 event on the 30th so good practise for him, and your right Tom he does post under ''Chockee''

    Good luck to both players!

    Rod B says at the break: Matt D 18k; Pad 14k; Drago 7k; Rod 8k. 11k average.
