not a lot you can do when you have a player wanting to chase it down,but imo a bigger re-raise after the flop might have got him to fold but doubt it.he has obviously made up his mind he was going for it...

I don't think you can really call on the turn, it's got to be a raise or a fold. Same with flop really. The thing is you called and didn't get to find out where you were or where he was. Hence he really could be betting it all on the river with A9 because he thinks it's good and you might be calling with AK or something. If you 2-bet the flop and he calls (which he does cos he's a fish) you probably end up going bust anyway with his suckout. At least if an 8 had come it might've slowed you down.

i think that pob played that hand reasonably well by betting a good amount to hit his straight as he probably put you on a big pp and fancied his chances dude unlucky.
