I went to the APAT game in Bristol yesterday, and since I hadn't been to the Gala before I brought along some ID to register. It all went fine, took two minutes and one very small form, and since there'd been absolutely no queues I wandered off to kill an hour in Bristol before the game started. As I left, I walked past the nearby Grosvenor, and figured I may as well register there too, in readiness for the next GUKPT. But despite having a current UK passport (with photograph), up-to-date bank statement (with name and address) and several other forms of ID in the shape of credit cards, Press cards (photo again) and so on, they wouldn't let me register.
I was too bemused to enquire as to what more they could possibly want (I seem to recall the receptionist mumbling something incomprehensible about the passport lacking "dates") - does anyone know?
