**Update**
5 days later and Pacific poker (888.com) are refusing to answer my emails. When I contact them via live chat they claim not to have recieved them even though I have automated confirmation reciepts.
They are still refusing to pay out my $1500 though.
I will keep the board updated on this situation. I will also be posting around other internet forums to make sure others don't fall into this trap.
I work for a well known gambling company based in the UK (customer services) and believe me it is not the intention to disrupt customers and and make things as problematic as possible!! The laws that have to be adhered to with regards to the Gambling act 2005 are very tight now and firms are afraid of losing their licences. Though i cant speak for Pacific or any other company, ive seen a lot of very dodgy things happen, especially with online accounts and unfortunately the actions of a minority spoil it for everybody else. If the company is a reputable one they will use the information for peace of mind and no other reason and it should be looked upon as a reassurance that such companies are so thorough with your money.
Although people i have heard that supposedly fraudsters from shit holes like nigeria have tried gaining access to peoples accounts (obviously to steal the money)
tehrefore, policies like this (imagine your account was hacked...) - are for the best....
And how often do you play poker in another country Lol - if anything if your on holiday why are you even playing poker?! (unless you are at a poker tournament abroad!!)
