Default Chinese Poker Strategy Question (ya rly)

Ok hands where you get dealt 5 pairs and naff all else in Chinese Poker are, as Walty would say, the ghey.

So let's say your hand is something like KK,99,77,44,22 and the rest of the cards make you no str8s, so basically you've got to arrange your hand (best to worst) 2 pair, 2 pair, 1 pair.

How would you play it and why??

Is going 99+22, 77+44 + KK the best way?
Or would you go with any other combo?

And also, say, instead of 99 you had QQ would this change your strat as you could go KK+22, QQ+44, 77 (as a two pair Queen-xx is more likely to win middle hand than a 77-xx hand)

First scenario, definitely the KK up front as that's the only way I can make 1 strong, 1 reasonable hand (front and middle obv).

Second scenario, more likely to stick with QQ22, 7744 and KK for the same reasons - the back hand is dead and I'd rather have one strong (front) & one reasonable (middle) than leave myself with just two "reasonable" hands.

I acutally think folding is the best play here.

Folding on average will lose you around $30 - $40

If you keep the KK on your bottom hand with a mid middle hand you can expect to lose around $10 - $20 obv depending on no one has any special hands.

The key to the crap hands which you will lose on is obviously trying to keep your loss down to a minimum. Therefore i am not folding this ever and having the KK on my bottom hand.

Depends on the scoring tbh, but in some versions you foreit two points if you surrender.

I think a very important point to remember, whilst putting the best hand in the front hand is obvious - you MUST put your highest kicker with it, in case someone has the same hand!... I think this is standard chinese theory. worring about the back and the middle hand is unimportant IMO.

And that is why you are losing at the moment

er, which bit are you referring to? The folding part you HAVE to fold if you only forfeit two points... but that depends on the scoring you are playing... if its the one we have played then i would never fold unless i have 2 pairs or less....

As for putting the highest kicker at the top you will find that iam 100% correct.
