I was just curious if anyone else would consider a fold. In the actual hand I did fold, but that was mainly cause I timed out trying to work out what the fuck was going on. I was just soooooo surprised by his raise I didn't know what to do. I started thinking about each of the hands that beat me and none of them made any sense. The only hand that makes any sense is 88, but I don't think we can fold just cause we think someone might have quads, quads here is such a small part of his range even if it's the only hand that makes any sense....after all people do dumb shit all the time. He is never bluffing here though I don't think. He is valuebetting what he thinks is the best hand...but why so strongly now and not at all earlier?

Classic over bet on the river which I brought up in the other thread, it doesn't seem to make sense and so hard to put him on a hand you're temtped to call just to see LOL

You said he was passive so JJ was possible- he may have just flat called the 4BB re raise pre flop...

A passive player would likely have flat called with JJ on your turn bet too...

    I reckon JJ

Woody, how could you ask us without being able to tell us what he had. Sooooo annoying. I think JJ possible as you didn't say he had slow played before (which he'd be doing with 8 or8. I don't usually think of passive players slow playing as I think it is a form of aggression (if you know what I mean) as the point is to eventually flip over and make an aggressive move before the hand ends. But, on the other hand I can't see how he would think that he would get paid with such a massive overbet. Which then makes me think he had AJclubs (would fit with flat calls) and so thought ahhh - busted flush but still two (top) pair so lets pick up the pot. I think it would be hard for him to put you on a fh. You bet out when the Jack appeared and if he thought you had a jack as well he would have known he had top kicker so split pot at worst. But what do I know?

its a call but it seems like its J8 or something of that nature, if your beat you just re-deposit as hard as it is and soldier through
