Default making money out of suited connectors?

    Hi

    I normally play 6 steater $25, $50 & $100 nl holdem on party poker,
    i recently bought poker tracker.
After 7000 hands i was surprised to find i was a winning palyer, just over $600 though the rake took over half of this.

The thing is im not too great at playing suited connectors, have lost about $250 with them,
i usually call any raise preflop up to about 4 times the big blind, and then either fold post flop unless i hit or semi hit. Sometimes i get into trouble if i semi hit.

Is it possible to money out of them, how should they be played?

Suited connectors are never going to be big winners in anyone's database, but they should be winning hands to a smaller extent.

This is really a very broad question and your decision to play them is very dependant on other game conditions. Perhaps if you post some hands we could better advise?

However if you do decide to play them, you should make sure you have position on your opponent, often be prepared to play your draws aggressively post flop and also use our position to bluff post flop rather than just give up when we miss.

I feel like i've just written the broadest most useless response on the internet

Playing them in position makes sense to give me the chance bluff ,i guess below is a typical hand i would play with suited connectors

I think blind v blind hands always play a little different as ranges are often wider and people are more inclined to do more stupid things.

I might consider 3 betting this hand preflop, but calling is obv fine too (as is folding). You could take a stab at the pot on the turn, but apart from that I don't really see anything too terrible here.

Do you have a hand where you lost a bigger pot perhaps?

    Default Bigger Deal

In Bigger Deal Anthony Holden quotes Annie Duke as saying that being suited only adds 3% to the value of cards so you should always ask yourself how likely you would be to play them if they weren't suited.
